...Brian gets down on his knees with seed specialist Andrew Best of John Watson Seeds to examine the grass and share the successful establishment of new plants following overseeding into the old sward earlier in the year.

This is just one aspect of a three year project with Quality Meat Scotland and the Monitor Farm programme which has welcomed the local farming community onto the farm to discuss and compare technical performance and methods of the whole farm enterprise. Including 18 meetings and 2 Open Days the project saw some of the UK's leading experts visit Plan Farm to discuss and speak in depth, on subjects ranging from grassland management and grazing systems, livestock nutrition and feeding regimes, environmental issues related specifically to the hill and rough ground, breed selection and performance recording and financial performance and bench-marking.
