



Taste of Bute brings you fresh and smoked foods from the Isle of Bute, off the West Coast of Scotland. Enjoy the delicate flavours of island food delivered to your door directly from our farm overlooking Dunagoil Bay at the most southerly point of the Isle of Bute.
Taste of Bute is your link with a traditional beef and sheep farm in the Highlands and Islands; your opportunity to share this stunning location where cows and sheep roam extensively on grassland and species-rich hills and glens.
After 15 years of livestock farming on Bute, Brian and Janet Hill have developed the Taste of Bute brand to deliver food not only from their farm but also from other producers on, or closely associated with the island.
Today's consumer is looking for high quality food, produced using environmentally-friendly systems with traceability directly back to the farm – Taste of Bute delivers on every count.
The Isle of Bute Smokery is an extension of the concept of delivering novel food that has been produced within the natural environment of our island location. The centuries-old technique of brining to preserve our food now takes place in the converted shearing barn at The Plan Farm steading.
After brining and marinading, our meats are smoked over oak from recycled whisky barrels sourced from Highland distilleries to make our smokehouse a truly Highlands and Islands partnership. Cheese, trout and veal are all produced on Bute complementing our own beef and lamb to give you the finest selection of delicately delicious smoked island foods.
